Meet the Minister. Reverend Dr. Stafford
J. Miller, undergraduate college years were spent at William Paterson University in Wayne, NJ and at New York Theological
Seminary where he received a Masters of Divinity (M.Div.) and Doctor of Ministry degrees (D. Min.) Dr. Miller interests lay in the Spiritual
disciplines, Christian mysticism, contemplation, spiritual formation, and the theology of the Holy Spirit, and The Art of
Spiritual Direction. Dr. Miller is a Certified Spiritual
Director and is devoted to assisting individuals and groups in discovering where God is active in their daily lives and
in the culture in which we live, by way of the inner guidance of the Holy Spirit. Dr.
Miller has been approved by The General Board of Higher Education and Ministry approved the Certification in Spiritual Formation
of the United Methodist Church. He has also studied at:A…The Quellen Spiritual Center in Menden New Jersey. B…The
Upper Room Spiritual Center in Neptune, NJ C….He is a graduate with a Professional Certificate in Spiritual Direction at
The Tree of Life Institute for Spiritual Formation, Belvedere, New Jersey .D. He holds a Certificate
from Equipping Lay Ministry from Wesley Theological Seminary, in Spiritual Formation. Washington D.C.He has recently received a Graduate Certificate in Christian Spirituality from
Seton Hall University Immaculate Conception Seminary School of Theology in South
Orange, NJ and has been in direction as a directee, for several years. Spiritual formation is Dr. Miller’s passion which he enthusiastically shares with others as
he encourages and empowers them to know God and to make Him known. He is a frequent speaker at retreats, gatherings, and seminars. He welcomes anyone who desires to be in conversation and discernment
about their spiritual journey. He is
married to Maria A. Benavides, who is the Executive Director of the C.A.M.P Youth Development Program. He has one daughter,
Kimberly a son-in law Erskin and a lovely grand-daughter Kamryn. He and Maria reside
in Paterson and he is available for workshops and retreats.
